It has essentially taken the entire week to reflec

It has essentially taken the entire week to reflect on last weeks #usandallofthis performance.

A 3 month collaboration that invited serious inspiration, growth, a little resistance and an oppurtunity to play an integral role in supporting such an inclusive and nurturing community project.

It was a shift for me to take a step back and be guided through a process that was not as familiar as other creative projects and experiences I’ve had in the industry. And there’s been many!!!

My leadership, practical, outcome driven mind went to urgency, yet the process required enormous trust, patience and acceptance.

Working with the incredible visionary, director and choreographer @liesel_zink invited me to become more of an observer initially, and boy have I humbly learnt a lot from that place. What a special human you are Liesel. 💜

But the most rewarding element for me, was the part where it was time to LEAD the cast whilst maintaining the observer mindset.

Human beings are fascinating and incredible, MOVING human beings are way more fascinating and incredible. And watching each and every participant indulge in their own personal interpretation of the movement, was mesmerizing.

This journey was poignant for everybody involved as it asked us to slow down, be quiet and sometimes still, and trust in the process and what unfolds.

Thank you @jess.move and Ash for journeying with me, @performinglines for taking damn good care of us as artists, and the epic dancers for filling Johnston Park with pure magic. The remnants of that energy will last a long time no doubt. 💫

I have expanded, evolved and humbly learnt many lessons along the way, so it seems fitting to now integrate all of this in one very attractive hub space.
A very interactive and digitally friendly web experience, thanks to an incredibly dedicated and talented bunch of people that have helped make all of this happen.

In true Fiona form, I’m a day late recognizing t

In true Fiona form, I’m a day late recognizing the momentous IWD. Not because I forgot, but more because I wholeheartedly believe celebrating us all, EVERY gender, and our efforts to make a difference this lifetime is a daily event.

Here are my girls, my most precious possessions.
Today, I was reminded, by 2 important people in my world to stand tall, firm and committed to my precious jewels. Advocating for what I believe in and value most in the world.
Although my fire in my belly trumps most of the time, there is a residual niggle that sometimes gets the better of me.
I’m sure many people reading this post can relate.
I call it fear!

IWD is a celebration of so many things.
For me it is a representation of constantly remembering to stay on course, to make an impact, ‘albeit’ small on the lives of others, but most importantly my children’s. To break intergenerational trauma and conventional BS and parent and live consciously, intuitively and wholeheartedly.

Today I celebrate all of us, especially the precious and selfless mothers out there who are trying their butts off to stay on course and lead with strength, integrity and love. 💜

I believe there is a lot to be said for the bravery and trust it takes to let go.
I also believe that giving ourselves permission to take the time WE need is paramount to healing and moving forward.
There’s no rules here ⬆️

This weekend I had the absolute pleasure of spending it with one of my nearest and absolute dearest @bec_crazyfit_mum; adventuring,
deeply and vulnerably conversing and sharing and laughing so hard, streams of tears fell down our faces.

This image is just before we set off on our hiking, bush adventure.
No plan, limited food supplies and both with a minuscule sense of direction 🤦‍♀️
Alas, I am alive to share this story, BUT, the metaphor here is that, when you release the grip of life, especially the old version, and charge forward with an unwavering sense of trust and belief that it will all be ok, even when it feels uncomfortable and uncertain, it is!
Better than OK 👌(I was sure I’d be climbing trees avoiding snakes!)

Life is messy, who are we kidding. And not dissimilar to my own generous sized backpack, we are all wearing hurts and wounds and pain from our past and even our present. It doesn’t define us nor does it have to determine our future steps.

Pain is a gift, suffering is a choice. ✨

What is one, single thing you can let go of, post reading this spiel, that will create space for something new?
Well let go my friend and trust.
YOU are the only one in you’re way. 💜🙏

I shared and discussed this sentiment with a special friend over the weekend.
How can we, amidst the turbulence of life, still maintain a sense of peace and serenity inside?

Sometimes this feels impossible, especially if our outside world is having a really LOUD party!

What have I learnt along the way?

The most effective way I return back to being able to access this stillness, is literally TO BE STILL.

For me, this looks like meditation, yoga and a healthy sleep routine.
For you, it can look very different, so long as you make the time to engage in something that calms the mind (even momentarily) and regulates the nervous system.

I cannot even tell you how profound it is when I commence my client sessions with some guided stillness.
What evolves post this is always so rich and honest and raw, for both of us!
